Fair Winds

The project included extensive internal demolition and reconfiguration, structural alterations and steelwork to create new openings and a more open-plan layout, together with new triple-glazed windows and external doors.

The existing building fabric was substantially upgraded, including a complete natural slate roof replacement, external wall insulation and new external finishes, upgraded attic insulation and renewed internal finishes throughout.

Mechanical and electrical services were also extensively renewed, including new plumbing and heating, electrical installation and ventilation, together with provision for renewable-energy upgrades.

External works included drainage alterations, a new raised patio and landscaping works, along with the construction of a new detached garage designed to complement the main house.

The result is a comprehensively renovated and energy-upgraded home that retains the character of the original property while significantly improving its comfort, performance and connection with its coastal setting.
